Esha Bawa

Managing Director, Global Treasury & Payments Advisory

I’m a financial services executive on a mission to share my mistakes and uplift others on their journey to reach their highest potential.

My personal philosophy is to promote happiness, gratitude, and cultural diversity while prioritizing achievement and curiosity.

At American Express, I lead a global team that fosters partnerships and acts as trusted advisors on our clients’ payments, financing, and procure-to-pay (P2P) process efficiency needs. My multibillion-dollar portfolio represents companies of all industries, the most respected brands in the world, and American Express’ most valued, global partnerships.

I’ve been at AmEx since 2012 have served in leadership capacities across product, account management, and sales with a focus on global clients. My experience includes launching Early Pay, American Express’ supply chain finance and dynamic discounting platform, transforming the B2B product portfolio, driving multi-billion dollar go-to-market strategies, and serving as Chief of Staff to the Head of Global Business Development.

Prior to American Express, I served as Director of Client Management at Applico, a mobile innovation consultancy helping clients to digitally transform and build platform businesses. I began my career at Dell/EMC in Global Pricing.

As an Adjunct Professor at Baruch College, I seek to empower my students with the tools to navigate leadership and management skills in the ever-changing world. I’ve given talks on Harnessing Your Infinite Potential, where I share how we can be champions for change by looking within ourselves through meditation. I’m grateful to enhance my teachings as a certified yoga instructor.

As an Indian-American immigrant, I’ve connected with my heritage through art, dance, language, and music. This has given me a deeper understanding of the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. I’ve learned it starts by embracing your own cultural heritage. Now I’m proud to serve on the Board of SwarDarbar to continue this legacy.

I’ve lived and worked in cities all over the globe, including London, Bangalore, Boston and New York City. I hold my MBA from the Columbia Business School and a BSc in Management from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
