Daniel Kennedy, Vice President, Distribution Excellence, International Banking, Scotiabank
Daniel serves as Vice President, Distribution Excellence for Scotiabank’s International Banking division. In this role, he leads the integration of Scotiabank’s growing digital banking prowess with the retail bank, supports the transformation of all aspects of the distribution channels, leads and supports the development of the international Fintech strategy, and supports per-country initiatives to grow market share and revenue generation throughout Scotiabank’s international footprint. Daniel is also Scotiabank’s Executive-in-Residence in QED, a venture capital fund focused on Fintech investments.
He has 18+ years of leadership experience in financial services, banking, and technology in various functions of strategy, operations, M&A, marketing, sales, software products development, and technology promotion. He has increased profitability, generated growth, managed risk and led cultural change on multiple occasions, most recently in the founding and leadership of Scotiabank’s digital bank in Chile.
Daniel is a grown-up third-culture kid, having spent his life in Pakistan, Guatemala, Bangladesh, Indonesia, the United States, Canada, Chile and Puerto Rico. He holds an undergraduate degree from Mount Allison University, and an International MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
